Xiaomi has started rolling out the stable version of MIUI 9 to all compatible devices. The company's Vice President and India head Manu Kumar Jain confirmed it on Twitter along with a list of all devices.
It is worth pointing out that the stable version of MIUI 9 comes just a week after the company rolled out the global developer version of the MIUI 9. Although Xiaomi is a little late to the party, it is good to see that the company is updating even the most dated of smartphones from its portfolio, including the Redmi 1S and Mi 3.
If you're using one of the compatible devices, you will receive a prompt for the OTA update. Alternatively, you can also go to the software settings on your device, and look for the update manually.
HOW TO UPDATE THE NEW VERSION OF MIUI 9 :
Users can also refer to the Updater app to check for updates. Alternatively, they can go to Settings > About phone > System update, to manually look for an update. Meanwhile, as we mentioned, Xiaomi has provided the download links and full changelog for all the smartphones, in the MIUI Forum. It is advisable that users should back up their data before making the upgrade.
